Come out to Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area for a National Public Lands Day & Bioblitz Celebration! On September 24th, visitors are invited to sign-up for various public-service projects around the site including a beach cleanup, working in a historic garden, and more. Projects are family-friendly, and volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and fee-free federal lands voucher. Sign-ups occur in-person at the Interpretive Center from 10am-4pm. Yaquina Head is also hosting a bioblitz on this day. Coordinated with the iNaturalist app, a bioblitz is a citizen science effort to record as many species within park boundaries as possible. Rangers will be on site to give tutorials and lead guided bioblitz hikes. Prizes are available for contributors! Join us to learn about and contribute to your public lands!
